Congratulations to the MMTI class of 2012!

The 2012 MMTA in the UP will be held on Friday, June 1st at the City of Marquette Lakeview Arena.  We're working with the Northern Michigan Public Service Academy and are very excited to bring you a great line up of presenters and sessions.

It's that time of the year when we ask for nominations of members of the MMTA who have provided service to their professions and their communities. The PRIME Award stands for "Professional Recognition in Municipal Excellence" and is your opportunity to recognize another member for his or her time and commitment to others. You know who they are - all you need to do is complete the nomination form and return it to Janice Thelen no later than close of business on July 13, 2012.  If you have any questions, her contact information is included on the nomination form.  Time to "rock those nominations!"

The deadline for the Certified Public Finance Administrator (CPFA) certification and renewal applications is June 1st.  Information, including the application, is available on the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada's website.  You may now submit your application electronically by emailing it along with the required documentation to membership@aptusc.org.  Then you can call the APT US&C headquarters at (301) 495-5560 to make a credit card payment, or let them know when you email your application that you'll be mailing a check separately.  Please don't wait until the last minute to send your application!

June 1st is also the deadline for the other certifications offered by APT US&C:

     Debt Policy Certification
     Cash Handling Certification
     Investment Policy Certification
     Disaster Preparedness Certification
