Overview
Advanced Institute is designed to provide members with credentials like the MiCPT, the CPFA, and the ACPFA an opportunity to further investigate topics in order to challenge themselves and expand their understanding of public treasury. Topics are often advanced and will include both on-the-job skills as well as a deeper look at developing interpersonal, leadership and management skills necessary to run a successful treasury office. There is a heavy emphasis on peer learning and networking to ensure attendees develop professional resources.

Schedule
The 2024 Advanced Institute will be Wednesday, May 8 - Friday, May 10 at the Double Tree Riverside in Bay City. Please note that this year's conference schedule is different from recent years: sessions start Wednesday morning and conclude Friday at noon. We will celebrate our Past Presidents during dinner on Wednesday evening; attendees are 'on their own' for dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday.

Attendance
All attendees are responsible for tracking the sessions they attend; a point tally sheet will be provided to assist you. Attendance is only in-person; there is no livestreaming option. The MMTA Board of Directors has committed to having both Basic and Advanced Institute as an in-person conference to ensure learning from both presenters and through networking with other attendees.

Past President Reception
Wednesday evening, May 8, will be a celebration of MMTA's Past Presidents. Dinner will be provided for all attendees and any Past Presidents who are able to attend. We look forward to recognizing those individuals who have worked tirelessly over the years to encourage and grow MMTA into the resource that it is today.

Location and Lodging
Advanced Institute will be held at the Double Tree Riverside in Bay City for 2024. Contact the hotel directly at 989-891-6000 to make your reservations. The Advanced Institute registration fee is $379. This includes all sessions, materials, and most meals (attendees are on their own for dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday, since training concludes prior to lunch). Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging. Scholarships are available for the registration fee - more information and requirements are online here

ACPFIM Training
MMTA will partner with APT US&C to provide the Advanced Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (ACPFIM) Training as a stand alone session before Advanced Institute. This training will take your finance knowledge to the next level and is open to those who have already earned their CPFIM. The training will be on Tuesday, May 7 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon and will be presented by Greg Prost. It is an in-person training (no recordings or virtual options); to attend, you must register separately with APT US&C. More information on the Public Funds Investment Manager Certification is online here. More information on May's class will be available soon at www.APTUSC.org.
